The Faculty of Economics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is one of the leading educational institutions within the field of Economics in Ukraine focused on developing and implementing strategic directions in higher education in Economics. The Faculty as aimed at those who want to get a degree in Economics or make a career in Management.
Over the past five years, more than 4000 students have graduated from the Faculty of Economics, including 1,446 in Bachelor, 758 in Specialist, and 2023 in Master programme.
The Faculty of Economics has a highly-qualified academic staff with 5 Academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and other specialized Academies of Sciences, 39 Professors, 104 Associate Professors, 48 honorary Doctors, and 146 Doctors of Philosophy among the 226 academic staff of the Faculty. There are 140 doctoral students and 5 candidates in the higher doctoral program (the system of doctoral degrees in Ukraine consists of two levels, which requires the defense of two doctoral theses, the second being the highest academic degree awarded).
Over the past five years research staff of the faculty has published 120 monographs, more than 2,200 academic articles, 76 textbooks as well as 120 course textbooks. 140 theses, including 21 post-doctoral and 119 doctoral theses submitted at the Faculty. In this period 49 representatives of the Faculty successfully defended their doctoral and 16 post-doctoral theses. In 2006 academic authors from the Department of Economic Theory were awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology for their textbook “The History of Economic Theory”.
The Faculty of Economics annually hosts the second level of the All-Ukrainian Student Contest on Business Management in Ukraine, and the second level of the All-Ukrainian national competition of student papers in such disciplines as Accounting, Analysis, Auditing and Quantitative Methods in Economics (Statistics, Economics and Mathematical Modeling).
The Faculty regularly holds International and Ukrainian student academic conferences, workshops, seminars, and round tables. There are student research groups run by leading academics, Professors and Doctors from different Departments.
The Faculty consists of 13 departments:

The Department of Statistics and Demography;
The Department of Entrepreneurship;
The Department of Foreign Languages.
The Faculty can boast of powerful cutting-edge resources: a Data Processing Centre consisting of five computer rooms equipped with the latest high-tech facilities; 4 specialized multimedia rooms, modern language laboratories with 56 stations; specialized classrooms and laboratories equipped with professional computer software packages; a studio for video recording of teaching materials, and a library of economics literature. The Data Processing Centre provides undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the faculty members with a possibility to work independently using the resources of local and international information networks.
The Faculty of Economics collaborates under bilateral agreements with numerous universities abroad – such as University of Applied Sciences at Schmalkalden, Germany, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, St. Petersburg State University, Russia, Konstanz University, Germany, the Graduate School of Management of Warsaw, Poland, Bodo Business School, Norway, ISM University of Management and Economics, Lithuania, Worms University of Applied Science, Germany, and Karaganda Economic University of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the Faculty has a strong and effective system of extra-curricular activities that has evolved from the synthesis of productive communication between research and academic staff, the administration, tutors of academic groups and the student council.
There are two basic forms of studies at the Faculty of Economics – full-time and distance learning with the following degrees awarded: Bachelor’s, Specialist, and Master’s Degree.
